Professional Cleaning Symbols

The professional cleaning symbol is a circle, not to be confused with the tumble drying symbol which is a circle within a square. This symbol gives information for professional dry or wet cleaning. The circle usually contains a letter which shows which solvents are suitable for the garment.
A bar below the circle indicates that there are limitations for the process. They may be related to mechanical, moisture and or drying processes.

Normal goods, dry-cleanable in all solvents.

Dry Cleanable in Perchloroethylene, Hydrocarbons (heavy benzines)
No restrictions on cleaning process.


Dry Cleanable in Perchloroethylene, Hydrocarbons (heavy benzines)
Same solvents can be uses as with the normal P symbol, but there are restrictions on addition of water, mechanical or drying processes.

Dry Cleanable in Hydrocarbons (heavy benzines)
Commercial solvent based stain removers can be used.

This garment is not suitable for dry cleaning.
Professional Wet Cleaning
Wet cleaning allowed with no restrictions.
Mild Professional Wet Cleaning
Wet cleaning technique for sensitive garments with reduced mechanical action.
Very Mild Professional Wet Cleaning
Wet cleaning technique for very sensitive garments with very reduced mechanical action..
Do Not Wet Clean
This garment is not suitable for wet cleaning.
