Door Opens With Water Still Inside

Some washers only lock the door until the end of the cycle, or on a timer. If the washing machine has developed a fault and not emptied, these models will still let you open the door.
Other models will detect when water is still in the drum and prevent the door opening.

If the washer had finished it's cycle and there was still water inside, then there is a problem emptying. See Washing Machine Won't Empty
